About

My name’s Dave, and I’ve been an atheist for most of my life.  I’m a strong supporter of the separation of church and state.  This is a place where I share ideas when I don’t have another outlet.  Usually atheism is my main topic, but there’s I’ll occasionally discuss other things, like gay rights and sports.

I occasionally guest co-host on the radio show Ask an Atheist with Sam Mulvey.  I’d love to hear your thoughts on my ideas, but prosthelytizing will not be tolerated.  Keep the comments section thoughtful and respectful, please.

If you have any questions for me, or topics you might want me to discuss, contact me at AtheistSB@gmail.com, or contact me below.

Thanks for stopping by and reading.

  1. I am an Iranian atheist and have had an application for political asylum in the United States pending for 18 months. The Asylum Officer asked me to find a an asylum case in the United States where the Asylum Office, as opposed to an Immigration Judge or federal court, has granted political asylum to an atheist to support my case. I know of the Afghan atheist in the United Kingdom who was granted political asylum. I know there are numerous grants of asylum by USCIS Asylum Offices in the United States, but they are not reported anywhere because they are granted, thus, no appeal. There is no index by topic of administrative asylum grants, only cases reported to immigration law publications by attorneys who win or lose them.

My asylum interview is in a week and I want to know if you or anyone else can help me locate an atheist granted political asylum, willing to confirm the asylum grant. I reached out to work as a law student intern at the American Atheist last summer to work on this issue but did not receive a response.

I would be willing to be interviewed by you or Sam Mulvey on “Ask an Atheist”.

I have a blog on Iranian Atheists and will forward the link asap.

I may be the test case under current interpretation of U.S. Asylum Law.
